Healing Haven Acupuncture Clinic

Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association

I am a member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association, a body that has represented acupuncturists in Ireland for over 20 years. It happens to be full of the most extraordinarily amiable and agreeable members, a fact which should not, fool you into forgetting that they take their professionalism and their standards of conduct and care most seriously.

You can find out more about this body here.

Additional note: I was elected a member of the AFPA Board of Directors at the AGM held on 29th March 2008, and will do my best to represent the best interests of both the members and of the general public for as long as I serve.

Remember, if you have a complaint about me or any other acupuncturist or any treatment provided in an acupuncture clinic, it is important to address it. The first step is obviously to bring your complaint to the practitioner's attention verbally. If you are still unsatisfied, then you should make a complaint in writing. If this does not bring about a satisfactory response, you still have a powerful avenue of redress if the practitioner is a member of a professional association. These usually have clearly laid out complaints procedures and have a strong interest in ensuring their members act according to the highest and most ethical and professional standards of care. But in the last resort, acupuncturists, like all others providing goods and services, are bound by the laws of the land and by professional norms. Find out about your rights here and here.
